Nate, if you have never been to Edinburgh, look on Multimap to get an idea of what the city is like. There are detailed aerial views and 'bird's eye' views of the whole city.
Awesome I will do that! I have debated on ordering a map to hang on my wall to give me better bearings on direction. Though I suppose the only logical thing to do would be to go there and see it and make it a personal experience. Thank you! OK I just checked it out and it will be an invaluable tool to follow Rebus! thank you so much!

I have recently become a member and would like to say "Hi". After spending a year in hospital I just want to say that being unable to hold a book, if it hadn't been for Rebus on audio cd, I think I would easily have gone mad. Looking forward actually reading all the books. I particularly enjoyed 'Exit Music'.
I've read the books twice - in order - and plan to do it again. There is always something I've forgotten, or see something from a different angle. That's the Rankin genius I think. I do hope Ian brings Rebus back in some capacity. I could see him wreaking havoc, for example, in the Fiscal's Office. And cold cases would be another area that would bring rich pickings for a good story. Missing Rebus big time!
This could have been written by me. I likewise recently discovered Mr. Rankin when a fellow tourist left a copy of a UK publication at our hotel in Costa Rica. Although I have a couple more of the older books left to read. I am sorry to see DI Rebus go but don't agree that he should be brought back - shades of Hieronymous Busch. I enjoyed "Doors Open" but "read" it as an audio book. My husband who shares my love for Rebus was lukewarm about it.
We look forward to the next book or series of books that Mr. Rankin will favor us with. Thank you Mr. Rankin.
I believe that most fans DO want another Rebus novel. He is such a fascinating character, there is alot more for him to experience. But,for some reason,Ian is keeping us in the dark on the future,if any ,of my favourite detective.
